About MREA

From The Chairman

Welcome to our Website

As Chairman of the Association I offer you a very warm welcome to our newly developed website.

If you have epilepsy one of the best places to live is in Liverpool and the connected areas in the north west of England. This is because the city of Liverpool is home of two international centres of clinical excellence for the treatment of epilepsy. The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust caters for the adult population and Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust for the youngsters. We also have the University of Liverpool performing world-leading epilepsy research. The Association enjoys close links with these institutions, and we like to think that the support we jointly offer for those with epilepsy is second to none.

Our website provides information on many aspects of epilepsy and we will continue to update the website as advances are made on all fronts. We have exciting plans for the future of the MREA, which will always be directed to support people with epilepsy.

To all Merseyside expats spread across the world, I hope that the header on all of the literature on the site will bring happy memories of your homeland roots.

I would like to congratulate Peter Rogan, David Renison and Derek Shanks on the immense job they have done for the charity. It the new Trustees honour to continue the good work they have done serving so many people with epilepsy across the north west of England, and in particular, Merseyside.

Finally, if you would like to help in our work please consider making a donation. No amount is too small. You can make a donation by navigating to the Donate page.

On behalf of all the members of the Association may I wish you health and happiness for the future.
